Lasseters Hotel Casino Strikes Gold with ShoreTel Unified Communications
Lasseters Hotel Casino is located in the Australian outback town of Alice Springs in the Red Centre in the Northern Territory. On the banks of the dry Todd River and framed by the famous MacDonnell Ranges, Lasseters is a 140-room hotel, an international-standard casino and an adjoining convention centre that caters for events of up to 600 people.
In early 2011, Lasseters was facing two challenges as part of a planned expansion that included an additional 65 accommodation rooms, a commercial gym, a fully equipped day spa branded the ‘Golden Door Day Spa Alice Springs’, additional gaming machines and table games, and a VIP gaming room. Lasseters’ existing PBX had become expensive to maintain and would not scale to meet the additional telephony needs of the expanded hotel complex.
- Minimal capital expenditure by purchasing through the Telstra Business Systems program, much lower TCO to comparative systems and support costs for the ShoreTel system half that of the legacy telephony environment.
- Unified communications providing feature-rich functionality to enhance hotel staff productivity and guests’ experience.
- Lasseters able to maintain, manage and expand telephony system primarily with in-house resources.
“When we completed the analysis, we determined that ShoreTel provided us with a future-proof, well-supported system with many advanced features to allow the business to grow and enable employees to work more efficiently. The ShoreTel system also provided large savings over the life of the system, based on my TCO calculations, when compared to the other systems we considered.”
